Life hasn’t always been a bed of roses for Paul and Linda. Although you might think butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth, he’s had to do a fair bit of apologising to get where he is today. On their first date Paul got so drunk that, at the end of the night, he gave £20 to Linda and his phone number to the cab driver.

Paul should have realized the first time he met Linda what he was letting himself in for. Not only did she insist that she bought the drinks, she drove him home, told him to phone her, told him when to phone her, then gave him a full account of what she expected him to say when he did phone her. Well, he’s always enjoyed a bit of domination.
