  2. Tradition dictates that as Best Man, I am supposed to stand here and pay tribute to the bridegroom. However, as this is the 21st century, and we live in times of equality, I would like, at this point, to pay a little bit of attention to the bride. When Paul first introduced me to Linda it was immediately obvious that the poor lad was totally smitten. He told me that this was definitely the woman that he would be spending the rest of his life with, but as Linda was driving at the time, the ‘rest of his life’ might only have meant a couple of weeks at the most!
