  1. There’s one thing that has made it no difficult task for me to say my piece on this occasion, and that is that I’ve known Paul for a very long time. I can vaguely remember the first time that Paul and I met. He was leaning out of a pram doing a lot of incomprehensible baby talk. Well, it was incomprehensible to me, but I was also a baby. I was reminded of this during the stag weekend which he also spent gurgling, belching and throwing his toys about.

  2. Before I start, let me just say that the formative years I spent in the company of the groom means that he had as much of a part in developing my sense of humour as anyone. So, although I have tried to make this speech as funny as possible, please blame Paul if it's not.
