  1. It’s good to see so many family and friends here, both Jewish and non-Jewish. For those of you who are attending their first Jewish wedding, you may be curious why we pelted Alex and Becca with candy at the synagogue service earlier. Some people say it’s because we are wishing them a sweet life. But if our parents are an indication, it’s more symbolic since during marriage, people apparently tend to throw things at each other.

  2. Seeing Alex and Becca up underneath the Chupa today actually brought to mind not a Jewish observance, but a Catholic one. I plan on nominating Becca for sainthood. Since she has known Alex for three years but married him anyway, she’s already qualified for one of her required miracles.
